
Drawing a mushroom one day, I realized that it was a good design source from which I would make some hats, and that it also symbolized ageing – from smooth skin to wrinkled skin. Consequently, this painting is another slightly surreal one about the passage of time. The young friends are clustered together, perhaps at a wedding, while the grandmother returns to her house on the hill, grandchild by the hand.
